Deputy Lopez began his career with the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office in 2013, where he worked as a Patrol Deputy in several assignments before transferring to the Professional Standards Division as a Public Information Officer in 2023.
While working Patrol, he was assigned to the Community Car Program and patrolled the community of Thornton, CA. Deputy Lopez transferred to our investigations unit where he was promoted to detective and investigated agriculture crimes. 2019 Deputy Lopez was assigned to the newly formed A.G.N.E.T (Agriculture, Gangs, Narcotics Enforcement Team) for approximately four years. Deputy Lopez is not only currently assigned as a Deputy Public Information Officer but also is a member of the Mobile Field Forces team and proudly serves in the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office Honor Guard.
Deputy Lopez is a lifelong San Joaquin County resident and is passionate about protecting, supporting, and serving his community.
Deputy Lopez’s primary task as Public Information Officer for SJSO is to assist with keeping information streamlined to the community through on-camera interviews with media and coordinating SJSO community events.
