The Citizens Academy is projected to reach members of the community simply seeking to become more informed on law enforcement issues, and those contemplating careers with the Sheriff’s office in any capacity.
The overall focus of the program is to provide a better understanding of the policies and procedures of the department, as well as the approach taken to provide law enforcement services to San Joaquin County.

Participant Requirements
Must pass a background check
Must live or work in San Joaquin County
Must be 18 years of age or older
Must hold a valid California Drivers License
Must not have pending criminal cases or outstanding warrants for your arrest
Must not have any felony convictions or misdemeanor arrests in the past 12 months
