Heather joined the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office as a Public Information Officer in January of 2023. Prior to joining SJSO, Heather spent over a decade working as a television journalist in Sacramento and throughout San Joaquin County, as well as working in public relations and volunteer work for various non-profits. Heather currently serves in the United States Army as a Reserve Soldier in a Medevac Unit as a UH60 Blackhawk Crew Chief.

Heather graduated from the Arizona State University Walter Cronkite School of Journalism, where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication with a concentration in Digital Media.

Heather’s primary task as a Public Information Officer is streamlining communication to our community and media, sharing the Sheriff’s Office stories through Video storytelling, photography, and handling SJSheriff social media platforms, as well as spearheading communication during critical or major incidents.
