Lieutenant Armando Izaguirre was hired by the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office in October 2007 as a Deputy Sheriff Trainee and attended the Stanislaus County Regional Training Center. In 2008, he was assigned to Patrol in the Field Forces Division. During his time there, he also worked within the Community Car Program and the Community Service Enforcement Team. In 2009, Armando was also assigned to the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team. Over the next 13+ years, he remained on the SWAT Team as an operator and later as a Sergeant Team Leader.

In 2014, he transferred to the Investigations Division as a Detective where he remained for two years and was nominated for the Stockton Italian Athletic Club Deputy Sheriff of the Year.

In 2016, Armando was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and remained in the Investigations Division and supervised the Robbery / Homicide Unit, which investigated all homicides, officer-involved shootings, and violent crimes within San Joaquin County. In 2022, he was assigned to the Professional Standards Division to supervise the Backgrounds & Hiring for Sheriff’s Office Employees. In late 2022, Armando was assigned to the Internal Affairs Unit, where he remained for the next two years.

In 2024, Armando was Promoted to his current rank of Lieutenant and was assigned as a Patrol Watch Commander. He currently serves as the Administrative Lieutenant assigned to the City of Mountain House, a contract City within San Joaquin County.

During his time with the Sheriff’s Office, he became a POST-certified Firearms Instructor and Range Master.
