Fill Out An ApplicationThe Citizens Academy is projected to reach members of the community simply seeking to become more informed on law enforcement issues, and those contemplating careers with the Sheriff’s office in any capacity.
The overall focus of the program is to provide a better understanding of the policies and procedures of the department, as well as the approach taken to provide law enforcement services to San Joaquin County.

Participant Requirements
- NPass a background check
- NMust live or work in San Joaquin County
- NBe 18 years of age
- NHold a valid California Drivers License
- NHave no pending criminal cases or outstanding warrants for your arrest
- NHave no felony convictions anywhere, and or no misdemeanor arrests in the past 12 months
