Attorney Stephen Taylor has been with the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office since March 2020. He began his career at the California Attorney General’s Office in July 1981. In October 1981, he worked with the Appellate Law before the California 3rd District Court of Appeals. He then began working for the San Joaquin District Attorney’s Office in 1981 working in Criminal & Civil Prosecutions and did that for over 37 years, until 2018.
From 2018-2020 Attorney Stephen Taylor worked in private practice.
Taylor’s practice areas include white-collar crime (tax evasion, securities fraud, embezzlement, labor law violations, etc), communicable disease control, sexually violent predator, a state agency, business, and professions and public corruption, zoning, building code, and public nuisance criminal and civil investigations and prosecutions by way of Grand Jury, Preliminary hearings, bench, jury trials, and appellate court hearings.
Attorney Stephen Taylor has a B.A. Degree Business Admin/Economics from Holy Names University CA. In 1980 he graduated with a J.D. Degree from UC Hastings College of the Law. He has been a California Bar Member since 1981.
