Lieutenant McCulloch began his career at the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s office in 2000, where he worked in the custody division at the distribution center. He went on to complete the Sheriffs Office Correctional Academy and worked as a Correctional Officer.
He later attended the Yuba College Police Academy, where he graduated and began his career as a Deputy Sheriff. As a Deputy Sheriff he held various positions such as, Field Training Officer (FTO), Recruit Training Officer (RTO), United States Marshall’s Fugitive Apprehension Team Task Force Officer, Firearms Instructor, First Aid CPR Instructor, Cal-Oes SEMS/NIMS Instructor, POST academy Instructor and was assigned to the Investigations Division as a Robbery Homicide Detective
He promoted to Sergeant and was assigned to the Patrol Division. As a patrol Sergeant he oversaw the FTO program and Off-Highway-Vehicle Program. He was assigned to the Professional Standards Division as an Internal Affairs investigator. He was later assigned to the Investigations Division as the Sergeant to oversee the Robbery/Homicide/ FBI-JTTF/ Jail Crimes Unit.
He was promoted to Lieutenant and is assigned to the Investigations Division as the administrative lieutenant.
