To maintain transparency with the community, and in accordance with AB 2761, we are providing information regarding an in-custody death that occurred at the San Joaquin County Hospital in French Camp, CA.
On Monday, July 15th, 2024, inmate Joel Muschott, a 37-year-old male, was transported and admitted to a local hospital, where he continued to receive care under medical staff while remaining in the custody of the San Joaquin County Jail. Muschott’s health declined and Muschott was pronounced deceased at 2:33 am, on July 26, 2024.
The San Joaquin County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the official cause of death.
